With newly renovated facilities and a large, natural outdoor space with further plans for renovations the Kindergarten operates 2 days/week (Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 am to 4 pm) and caters for up to 20 children. The Limited Hours Day Care operates 3 days/week Wednesday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3 pm). Theodore Early Child Care Centre believes that all children should be cared for in a happy and nurturing environment and pride themselves on providing a safe, supervised and healthy environment, both indoors and outdoors, for all children. Theodore Early Childhood Centre is a not for profit committee-based association with a motivated and passionate committee aiming to improve and maintain the Centre.
Reporting to the President of the Centre the Kindergarten Teacher has the overarching responsibility for the delivery and planning of the Kindergarten Program. This role includes teaching/instruction, child supervision, planning and conducting activities, projects and field trips and establishing and enforcing rules, policies and procedures, and being the overarching point of contact for the Centre.
Complete training and handover will be provided to ensure you are up to date with the above points and how they are specific to the centre.

Relief Childcare Staff
Theodore Early Child Care Centre is a combined Limited Hours Day Care Centre and Kindergarten operating in a beautiful spot on the banks of the Dawson River in Theodore. An expansion to the program and an increase in enrolment numbers has created a requirement for additional casual relief staff to replace permanent staff members when away on leave or from illness and to meet our operational requirements.
Set in tranquil surroundings with extensive inside and outdoor areas the Centre provides the perfect environment to work with up to 20 children. This role represents an opportunity to gain an introduction to all facets of childcare and the Childcare Centre. Offering multiple layers of support from the Committee, the Kindy Teacher, the Childcare Assistants and the Community we look forward to welcoming a new member/(s) to the team.
Relief staff may be required to cover any of the permanent roles including the Kindergarten Teacher, Daycare Group Leader and/or Childcare Assistant and will be responsible for building strong, trusting relationships with the children and families.
Reporting to the Nominated Supervisor, a typical term might require approx. 5 days of relief across the Daycare program (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) 8:30am - 3pm and Kindy Program (Monday and Tuesday) 8:30am-4pm. Notice will be given of requirements to work where possible and/or immediate availability may be required in the event of staff illness.
If you are truly passionate about working with children and have or are willing to obtain a Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services we would like to hear from you. Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and First Aid is essential.
